Happiness Anyone?

Can everybody be happy? Many concepts help support this pursuit:

For example, we are children of God; God is love; therefore our essence is love. Bones are conduits of high vibrations that emanate from heaven and earth. When we align with these vibrations, we feel connected to our essence. Joy is our birthright. It awaits our receptivity.

If our essence is joy, why are so many people stuck in suffering, a kind of mental hell? One possibility is that thoughts…matter. In other words, we become what we think. Thoughts are the conscious and unconscious intentions that orchestrate their own fulfillment. Feelings and thoughts are in partnership. Most of us cannot think in a more enlightened way than how we feel.

So everyone has the potential to be happy because everyone has a choice, moment to moment.

We start by being aware of our thoughts and feelings. In the moment we have the potential, the freedom to choose a better thought, a better feeling. With practice this will free us of habitual negative feedback loops between the brain and the nervous system and change the chemical releases from the brain. (see Evolve Your Brain, Joe Dispenza)

Balanced Hedonism is a gentle way to begin the practice of happiness because practicing balanced hedonism reminds us to choose what feels good. Hedonism means “to do good, we have to feel good; to feel good, we have to do good”.

Happiness is a practice, a mental discipline. Can everybody be happy? How badly do you want it?
